Mid Month Confessions

I'm linking up with E at Teaching Sam and Scout today for Mid Month Confessions!

-Xander watches way too much Daniel Tiger. He's obsessed. I get that he's not supposed to have screen time, but I've already dropped the ball. He wakes up saying "Deela!" and when we're in the car he calls out "Deela!" and when we walk into the living room he has a sixth sense of where the Roku remote is and bolts for it, all while squealing, you guessed it, "Deela!" I justify it by saying that the show reinforces good habits/behavior. And he'll be the only 16 month around who can pronounce Daniel (we're almost there!).

-Xander's old babysitter's daughter left a metal Minnie Mouse purse at Xander's birthday party in SEPTEMBER. It's still sitting in my car, waiting to be returned to her.

-Xander now has no less than 6 Eric Carle for Gymboree shirts in varying sizes, from 12-18 months to 3T. I justify it because one was a gift and the others were something like 80% off. And he'll be well-shirted for years.

-It seems like whenever I reserve ebooks from the library they all become available at one time after I've waited months for them. I cannot read 3 books in 2 weeks, so I download them all and then put my Kindle in airplane mode until I'm done with them all so that I can read them all without waiting another few months.

-I love McDonald's. I just can't help it. I refuse to apologize.

  1. Haha! Great confessions. I, too, am a closet McDonald's lovers. Is there really anything better than their fries? And, we love Daniel Tiger here too. There are worse things they could be watching, right?

  2. Love that you bought six of the same shirt for him to grow into. That's just smart if you ask me! I might have to keep that one in mind for future shopping. :)

    1. I love that if I can't find his current size in something I love, I can just buy it for the next year. I wish it worked that way for me.

  3. Visiting from the link-up!

My son is that way about Thomas. I'm thankful now for other options, such as Daniel Tiger. ;)

    1. Thanks for stopping by. I've tried introducing other shows. He tolerates Curious George and Sesame Street, but Daniel remains his favorite.

  4. Wait. Explain this secret to saving library ebooks thing. If I only open my app in airplane mode without wifi on, it won't take the book away???

    1. Girl! It's the best! Download the books (or books, in my case) and then switch to airplane mode. If your tablet isn't online the books don't know to go away. Just make sure you keep it offline until you're done. Mine has been in airplane mode for about a month...
